About the Author

Dr. Konstantinos “Dinos” Giannakas is the Harold W. Eberhard Distinguished Professor of Agricultural Economics and the Director of the Center for Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, an M.Sc. from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania and a B.Sc. from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He loves living in Lincoln and spending his summers in his native Greece. He is married to Dr. Tala Awada and is the (very) proud father of Ritsa and Christos. His academic interests include the areas of Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization, Regulatory Economics and Policy Analysis, and the Economics of Innovation and Product Differentiation. His non-academic interests include tennis, skiing, opera, poetry, philosophy and orthodoxy, Big Red football and wine, Islay single malts, and Cuban cigars.
